I'm so glad you are here!  Let me introduce myself to you.  I'm a wife and mother to three children - two boys and a girl.  I love to read, work in my vegetable and flower gardens, curate antique and thrifted items for my home, and go on hikes on the nearby trails. I started my professional career as a registered nurse but ended up with my master's degree in education.  I taught fourth grade for seven years before coming home to be a full time stay-at-home mom - a dream and goal for both my husband and me.  

When our oldest child turned four I began to seriously consider whether homeschooling was the right path for us.  I threw myself into researching and reading all the books I could get my hands on!  I knew that I didn't want our homeschool to look like the traditional model of education that I was trained in and was used to as a public school teacher.  I saw how ineffective those methods were, how the joy and curiosity quickly faded, and how learning became a chore to be borne rather than a thing of delight.  And then I found what I was looking for.  I was sold.  I was all in. 

What I found was Charlotte Mason and her profound practical philosophy of education.  Finally, the life I had dreamed with my children felt possible.  The vision that I had cast could be a reality - one in which all the good, beautiful, and true things of this life could be shared with my children in ways that were interesting and honored their personhoods.  Learning alongside them would become my life's work.   Real books, real things, real work with our hands, real time spent in nature...an education that produced thinkers and life-long learners.  

And while the answer was Charlotte Mason, it was definitely not the easy way.  It's been twenty years of personal study, research, reading many books, traveling to conferences, and dedication to learning all I could about all the facets of this method - one which is so much more than just the kinds of lessons we teach - one that encompasses all of life and parenting, a profound change!  And inevitably when I wanted to share Charlotte Mason's methods with other homeschooling moms I knew, it was a difficult task as there are so many moving parts, so much foundational philosophy to grasp, and all the books!  And many moms I met were deeply interested in this way of home education, but they shied away from it because it just seemed too overwhelming!  Or else they would try to dabble in it - picking and choosing a few parts of the method and then frustrated that things just didn't flow as beautifully as they had hoped.  

So after 20 years I found my second purpose - to share this wonderful, life-changing method with others in a way that is cohesive, complete, and effective. My heart is to help moms do this great and wonderful work in providing this type of education for their children.  Together we can change the world for good.  I hope you'll join me on this journey.
